(March 4/2018) Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau Strategic Council members, together with the Education and Training Quality Control Authority and the Innovation and Technology Development Bureau, held a discussion on the preparatory activities being carried out to make the professional competency assessment of teachers and school leaders effective.
Addis Ababa City Administration Education Bureau Head Dr. Zelalem Mulatu said that for the first time this year, 11,103 teachers and school leaders were given the professional competency assessment online. He noted that the relevant stakeholders should work diligently to ensure that the computers and internet infrastructure needed for the assessment are ready for the successful completion of the assessment, and that a pilot assessment will be conducted before the main assessment is given on March 28/2018.
On his part, Addis Ababa City Administration Education and Training Quality Control Authority Director General Ato Izedin Misbah indicated that his institution is working hard to make the professional competency assessment of teachers and school leaders effective, and that all assessees should be prepared for the assessment by ensuring that they are properly registered online.
The Addis Ababa City Administration Innovation and Technology Development Bureau is working with the relevant organization to implement the software for the online assessment system, said Ato Nebiu Fikadu, Deputy Head of the Innovation and Technology Development Bureau.
The Addis Ababa Teachers Association is using its existing structures at all levels to raise awareness for the successful completion of the assessment, said Ato Dinkalam Tolosa, President of the Association.
